Tour Begins With Win

Bangladesh have began their away tour with an emphatic victory against the Big Bash team Sydney Sixers – winning by 7 wickets in the first warm-up T20 game.  

Bangladesh calling themselves BCB XI here was lead by Mashrafe. Their star players Shakib, Tamim and Mustafizur did not participate providing an opportunity for others to make a name for them. Mash won the toss and elected to bowl first. Sydney sixer started off well but the Tigers clawed them down to restrict them to 169 runs. A competitive score none the less. The surprise package here was the top wicket taker for BCB XI was Soumya Sarkar – Yup! You read it right – bagging 3 wickets for 5 runs in his one over. Taskin and Taijul chipped in with a couple of wickets. The rain also took part due to which the target was revised – Bangladesh now had to score 84 runs in 8 overs to win the game. (more…)
