Bangladeshi youngsters, Mustafizur Rahman and Mehedi Hasan Miraz, has made the country proud again with their achievements in the ESPN Cricinfo Award.
Mustafizur Rahman won the best T20 bowling award for his subliming performance against New Zealand when he picked up 5 wickets for 22 runs at the T20 World Cup. Although Bangladesh did not end up winning the game but his performance was one of the best, in fact, it is still the best bowling figure for a Bangladeshi bowler in T20 International. He won the award beating Mitchell Santner of New Zealand and Dwayne Bravo of West Indies.
Mehedi Hasan Miraz won the best debutant award as he had a dream debut as he produced an outstanding performance in both the test matches he played against England. He picked up 7 wickets in the first Test match and 12 wickets in the second test to lead Bangladesh to a historic Test victory. He bagged 19 wickets in the two Test matches with an average of 15.63. He beat the Indian duo Karun Nair and Jasprit Bumrah to win the award. The interesting fact is that the same award was won by Mustafizur last year.
Green&Red Tigers would like to congratulate both Mustafizur Rahman and Mehedi Hasan for their achievement. Hope they will keep playing well consistently and make the country proud. Many more achievements to come.
