It is now official that Bangladesh will play the ‘one-off’ test match against India in Hyderabad – the first time in Bangladesh’s Test cricket history. Despite being neighbours, India is the last of the Full Member nation to host Bangladesh for Test cricket.
Bangladesh team will travel to India on February 2nd and are likely to play a 2-day practice game. The only Test will begin on February 9th, 2017 and will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, which is known for its spin-friendly wicket.
Bangladesh did not have the best of series against New Zealand in terms of results, therefore, would be eyeing to make an impact in this series. India is a different kettle of fish at home turf as most nations touring there have struggled over the past. However, the conditions are similar to that of Bangladesh, which will be familiar to the players and shouldn’t be hard to adapt. Also, the spin-friendly pitch would make the contest more spicy as both teams are well equipped with spin armour in their arsenal.
Expecting this to be a fiery contest.
